Jesus, Our Power To Change

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which
are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of
the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
” Philippians 3:13-14

Jesus is our prize, our goal, our great reward, and our power to change! In order to reach forward, pressing
into a closer walk with Him, we must let go of everything that hinders love. Although we come, many times,
into His presence carry burdens, mindsets, sins, and cares of this world, we must not come out of His
presence with them. If we chose to come into His presence, leaving behind everything that fights for our
attention, His presence will change us and through His glory we will be transformed into the image of Christ.
(2 Corinthians 3:18)

When the children of Israel would come before the Lord to worship, they would enter through the gate in
one direction, but leave in the opposite direction. This gives us an illustration of how the Lord desires us to
come into His presence one way, but leave another! Do not be satisfied with casual visits from the Lord.
Unlike the children of Israel, we can actually choose to abide in His presence and have continual communion
with Him. Regardless of how often we turn our focus off of Him, by His grace we can continually turn it back
to Him. I encourage you today, and every day, to set Him as your goal. Do not be satisfied with anything, or
anyone less!

"
But when the people of the land come before the Lord on the appointed feast days, whoever enters by way of
the north gate to worship shall go out by way of the south gate; and whoever enters by way of the south gate
shall go out by way of the north gate. He shall not return by way of the gate through which he came, but shall
go out through the opposite gate.
” Ezekiel 46:9
