DIE TEENWOORDIGHEID VAN DIE HERE

Posted in Afrikaanse Gedagtes, Elsabe's Blog at 2:52 pm by

Ek sal my moedertaal altyd koester in my hart en veral my Bybel in Afrikaans!

Intensified Glory

Posted in Elsabe's Blog, Just Thoughts at 2:40 pm by

As I was reading a blog of Joshua Mills, about “INTENSIFIED GLORY”, the Lord stirred up my spirit to really intensify my “SEEKING” for His Intensified Glory. Let us be fervent in spirit and go all out after the glory of His manifest Presence!

Creative Awakening

Posted in Creative Expression, Elsabe's Blog at 8:47 pm by

God is Creator of the universe and I believe that He has put something of His creative nature in each of us. This doesn’t necessarily mean art as such, but anything made from nothing with the breath of Holy Spirit on it.

It is an old adage that the cemetery is one of the richest places on earth – rich in dreams, gifts and creative ideas that never came to manifestation. You also might have something slumbering on the inside that needs expression, and since I believe that we should live to our full potential, I would like to encourage you to look into your inner being, finding some of the “who you are” that has never found expression. Maybe there is a book inside of you! Now don’t procrastinate any longer, just start out and ask Him to direct your pen! Or start “blogging” with me, but start doing it!

At this point I would like to give you a mighty testimony of what God wants to do for you if you would trust Him and step out in faith. I always admired artists and even dabbled a little in watercolors, but never thought that I had the ability to do any work of art, seeing that I had no training. But still it was a desire on the inside of me and one day a Prophet came by and prophesied that God would give me the ability if I would step out and just start to paint. So I did, and because of my dependence on Him, I simply asked Him to help me and there it was. He even sent artists along my path to help me with the practical know-how and to encourage me and today I find great joy in painting and expressing what Holy Spirit puts in my heart, while giving Him all the glory for His grace that is so easily available.

By the anointing of Holy Spirit, I pray that He will awaken those creative gifts that are lying dormant within you and I pray that Holy Spirit would breathe upon you now and stir up your spirit to step out and just start doing that which you have only dreamed about doing one day! Take the first step and write back in response to that stirring on your inside. Take up a brush and paint, or a pencil to draw or take your camera and find something beautiful to photograph, or start a garden patch, but make the decision to become co-creative with Holy Spirit! And yes, let me know about it!

Life is a journey to enjoy while expressing all that God has put on the inside of us for His Glory! So grab the moment and be creative!

GET YOUR SWORD POLISHED!

I am in love with my Bible – cannot get enough of it! In the past I tried to do Bible Reading Programs in order to read through the Bible in one year, but it just never worked for me, being like work you know? I usually got stuck in one section or on one topic. But I asked the Lord and, as always, He gave me the perfect way. I just open anywhere I am led to go and start reading; then mark the chapter or section with a check mark. This way I can see what I have read already (and sometimes reread). I read sections of the Old Testament, New Testament, Gospels, Epistles and at least one Psalm and one chapter of Proverbs per day, at different times in the course of the day. This way I easily go through 11 or more chapters a day, getting saturated with the Word and being hungry every day for that personal Word from the Lord’s heart for me. This way you will reread the book of Proverbs every month, the Gospels at least every 2 months, all the Epistles at least every 4 months, etc.

This way of reading is not a ritual though, and when Holy Spirit quickens something to me, I will take my time to meditate on that particular verse, word, topic or section with cross-references, etc. and pray it through, warfare with the Word and apply it to my life where it fits. Then I return to my “general” reading later.
See to it that you carry your “Sword” with you everywhere and when you have a spare moment, maybe waiting for someone, you can read a portion. Also try and memorize verses, then sections. The Word has to become imbedded in your spirit, so that Holy Spirit can bring it out for your edification any time He wants to.
This is also imperative for would-be prophets to KNOW the Word.

I can really recommend the on-line Bible, which you can download on your computer free of charge from:www.e-sword.net. You can choose your own commentaries, Strongs, etc. and even do your own study notes. I find it a great help and encourage you to set your mind on it to get drenched in the Word.

Make your reading of the Word your greatest JOY and something to look forward to every time! It is the Love letter of the Lord to you!

Prayer

Submit your Prayer Request

Prayer is our 911 link to heaven and something we cannot do enough! Paul tells us to pray without ceasing and to pray in our understanding and in the spirit. The Lord tells us how to pray in Matthew 6 and His life shows us that He was always setting Himself apart for prayer. Prayer is a way of life and a state of mind and our aim should be to become a house of prayer. So, let us pray: for ourselves, our family, our friends, the lost, the sick and hurting, the government and leaders of the church. The list is endless because the situations are endless, but yes, LET US PRAY AND TRUST OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN to give us what we ask as we abide in Christ.

His Covering Love

Posted in Afrikaanse Gedagtes, Elsabe's Blog, Just Thoughts at 2:59 pm by

What greater security could we have than knowing the Love of His covering wings over us as we abide in His Presence, and then looking at all the promises in Ps. 91!
